This vibrant piece of art is Rovandio’s first finished painting. It is a culmination of many years and countless hours spent building a relationship together. It took Rovandio a little while to figure out the painting process but on this particular day the light bulb went on and he made the connection! He also introduced the beautiful curved lines that you see featured in the painting, a delightful surprise to be sure!
I prepared this 16” x 16” x 1.5” canvas with a layer of texture to add dimension and an undercoat of blue before Rovandio began his work. It took two separate painting sessions and ample treats to achieve the multiple layers. Scroll down to see a video of Rovandio working on this painting.

Abstract art is such a great way to inspire creativity, for the artist and for the admirer. Everyone is drawn to different colors, textures, and sees different objects and scenes within the paintings. In this particular painting I kept seeing Mountain Tops with a sunny sky, fields of flowers, and blooming trees.
For others, the objects are more specific like a Lion Head (upper left) or a Woman bending over with Black Hair, a Blue Shirt, and Green Pants on.
